Symptoms of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in Stage 3

Just as its name implies, Chronic Kidney Disease doesn't mean kidneys lost their functions suddenly. It is a long process with progressive renal damage. Renal function is usually measured by glomerular filtration rate and in stage 3 the glomerular filtration rate ranges from 30 ml/min to 59ml/min. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) can be divided totally five stages and with different stages, people will have different symptoms.
In stage 3 of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), the following several symptoms begin to appear.
● Fatigue. We all know nutrient substances in our body can be brought to every organ through blood flow. Owing to the occurrence of anemia, nutrient substances can not be gotten by our tissues such as muscle and brain, as a result, patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) will feel tired.
● Swelling(Swelling and Kidney Disease). Swelling is common for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and it is mainly caused by retention of water and sodium. Our kidneys have ability of excreting excessive water and electrolyte. When our kidneys are damaged, they will lose their function. Consequently, water and sodium accumulate in our body, causing swelling. How Do Nephrotic Syndrome Patients Bring Swelling Down
●Urination Changes. Usually, urination change is the easiest one to be identified. For patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) stage 3, there are often a lot of foams which is caused by the leakage of protein. In addition, their urine may appear to be brown and tea colored. Sometimes, their urine is red, which is called gross hematuria(Hematuria and Kidney Disease) in clinic. Moreover, the urine volume of them may be more or less. For some patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), they have to urinate for several times at night.
● Sleep Problem. Due to renal damage, our kidneys can not excrete waste products from our body, including some toxic substances. Toxic substances accumulating in our body stimulate our skin, causing skin itch. Due to skin itch, patients with CKD usually can not sleep well at night because they have to scratch themselves.
● Backache. Some patients with Polycystic Kidney Disease or Renal Cyst usually feel pain in their back.Legs Swelling Related to Nephrotic Syndrome

Stage 3 of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has a special meaning for patients, because once running to stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), this disease will be more hard to be treated. Hence, people with stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) should receive treatment as quickly as possible, so that their disease can be controlled effectively.
