● Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease
Adult polycystic kidney disease is congenital genetic disease. It means there are many cysts in the renal parenchyma. Adult polycystic kidney disease is usually manifested with nocturnal enuresis, back pain and high blood pressure. In the urine test, hematuria and small amount of proteinuria can be detected. Adult polycystic kidney disease usually develops into renal failure. Moreover, ten percent of patients with this disease have renal stone and thirty percent of patients have polycystic liver.
● Simple Kidney Cyst
Simple renal cyst develops slowly. For patients with simple kidney cyst, their cysts can be unilateral or bilateral. Most of the time, simple kidney cyst means the unilateral kidney cyst. The morbidity of simple kidney cyst rises with the growing of people. For people who are older than 50, about a half of them can be diagnosed to have cysts. Simple kidney cyst differs from Polycystic Kidney Disease, and it is not genetic disease. Moreover, simple renal disease usually has no symptoms. Occasionally, hematuria(Hematuria and Kidney Disease), local pain, calyces renales and secondary infection appear. For some cysts, they may press adjacent blood vessels, so as to cause high blood pressure and when these cysts are removed, blood pressure will decrease.
● Acquired Renal Cyst
Acquired renal cyst mainly arises from uremia or dialysis. It has nothing to do with age, but have close relationship with the time of hemodialysis. According to the reports, most of the patients who have done dialysis for more than three years have acquired renal cyst and there are at least four cysts in one kidney. Some of the cysts can get infection and even conceration.
